Transparency Matters
The Books for Adults and the Books for your teens Let's talk about why labeling matters to me
In this age of Spice and slang that sounds as if one is ordering buffalo wings at a restaurant, I would like to be the first to say that like you, the mostly confused and probably concerned parent or even just as a fellow normal reader in general that I believe in being transparent about the books that are actually for young readers versus the books that are clearly aimed at adults written by me, Faith Jacobs.
All books for adults will have an 18+ circle on them, either on the back of the book or on the front cover, however, if that's not enough for you, they will also contain a blurb on the inside too which basically states, not for your child in so may terms. Books for teens will have clear age rages.
Second, I write for 14 to sixteen year olds with books such as Chaotic idiots and my companion series of A Maestro's Best friend is for 12 to 14 year old readers. I will always strive for appropriate fiction for the appropriate reader and will never include spice in young readers content. If your kid picks up one of my 18 plus novels, I shall not be at fault because my books are clearly labeled as adult only.
But if you are looking for a writer who has plans to create sound teen and young child appropriate fiction, look no further than me. I have plans in the future for such things and the many can be rest assured that zero spice is the game for teen and YA content from me, ADULT CONTENT WILL REMAIN adult content only and will be labeled as such. Thank you.

In this day and age all authors must have a responsability to transparency with their books and the range of appropriateness. If you don't, you are simply part of the growing problem. I, unlike you, will never stoop so low as to be part of this problem in literature where a quick buck is to be made by one, creating shallow literature, and two, misleading people to purchase pure smut. I am a writer of integrity, passion, and believe in categorization of the appropriate books for the appropriate age groups. Adult books will be labeled as such and books for children will be labeled as such. No one in their right minds should ever say "Yes" to this strange and unusal world of "everything must have spice" in order to sell. I will not stoop so low to become "popular" but also challenged by the law because my books were mistaken for being one thing when it is very easy to say which is for adults and which is for young readers. It should not have to be my responsibility but considering the fact that I grew up in an age where books for kids were just books for kids and adult novels were adult novels, I feel indiffrent to the idea that I should simply let transparency fall to the wayside. Unlike most indie authors and mainstream authors, I actually care that the right people read my books. Too many children tried to read Faithfully yours to the point that I slapped an 18 plus sticker on it. I say no. Why are we allowing this to happen? If i must be alone in this camp of wanting to make sure no parent feels duped by my books, I will do my job and make it apparent what is for kids and what is not. Spice is a replacement term for how much sex is in a book and I will never engage with making my books more "spicy" to sell and make a quick buck. You people are disgusting. Read books like normal human beings dear god.
